1980:

1 qualified instructor & car. 50 students; practical component conducted at the local showgrounds, students released from other classes; 2 local schools 

1981-85:

50-60 students each year

1986: 120 students; 4 instructors; length of course depends on student availability; students released from other classes; 5 district schools involved
1987: 200 students; $27000 from LCM Region Dept. of Education; other funds locally
1987/88: Service Clubs, North Central Cluster Centre staff, Charlton Shire employees and other locals donate nearly 2000 hours of volunteer time to build the facility. Charlton Shire donates equipment and the expertise, local farmers and others give free use of their trucks (travelling 6000 kms); Murray Valley Petroleum donates $1000 of fuel
1988:

316 students; 
May 15th Driver Education complex officially opened

1989: 193 students; 15 ˝ hours practical and 15 ˝ hours theory; 4 qualified instructors; courses vary from 7 hours theory and 6 hours prac to 18 hours theory and 24 hours prac
1990: 187 students
1991: 261 students
1992: 248 students
1993: 179 students; 8 schools; 2nd, 3rd & 4th placings in Victorian Young Driver of the Year
1994: 221 students; Education Department budget cuts result in less staff available and hence the course is reduced in time allocation
1995: 214 students; 8 different schools; 1st, 5th, 7th & 8th Victorian Young Driver of the Year
1996: 375 students;  1 staff member provided by each of Vic Roads, DOE, and local Cluster Schools
1997: 416 students; 1 staff member provided by Vic Roads and Cluster Schools; Local Instructors trained in order to reduce staffing costs; 1st, 2nd, 5th & 6th Victorian Young Driver of the Year
1998: 370 students; Vic Roads and Charlton College provide $30000 each towards staffing. Public meeting with Peter Brock as a guest speaker attracts almost 500 people; petition with 2100 signatures from right across the region. Government (Hon. B.Steggall) provides $30000
1999: 460 students; staffing provided by Cluster Schools
2000: 463 students from 17 schools
2001: 786 students from 28 schools; Government ( Hon. John Brumby ) provides $30000 per year
2002: 1011 students;  32 different schools; $30000 from government
2003: 946 students from 33 schools; $30000 from government: government cuts funding
2004: 1037 students from 30 schools and 3 private groups / individuals
2005: 810 students from 30 schools and 6 private groups / individuals.
As a result of a coverage of the centre by “A Current Affair”, Britex Carpet Care, who are a member of the ACS group of companies, have given $25,000 to support the operations of the Charlton Driver Education Centre.
2006: 833 students from 32 schools and 28 private groups / individuals.
2007: 837 students from 32 schools and 23 private groups / individuals. 1st, 5th, 8th & 10th Victorian Young Driver of the Year
2008: 767 students from 31 schools and 31 private groups / individuals. Car donated by Charlton Community Bank.
